JOB ROLE: Buyer
LOCATION: Maidstone, Kent
RATE: £300/day - £350/day

About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for a Buyer working with a well established residential developer delivering high quality homes across Kent. With a strong pipeline of developments and a commitment to quality and efficiency, they are looking to appoint a Materials Buyer to support the procurement of materials across multiple residential sites.
As a Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement and scheduling of building materials to support residential construction projects. Working closely with the Commercial and Site teams, you will ensure materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time and procured at the most competitive rates.
This role will involve the use of the COINS construction management system for placing and managing orders, maintaining procurement records and supporting the wider commercial function.
Key Responsibilities:

Procure building materials in line with project specifications, budgets and build programmes

Obtain and compare supplier quotations to secure best value and maintain cost control

Place purchase orders using the COINS system and manage order processes from placement through to delivery

Coordinate with Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely and accurate material deliveries

Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information within COINS

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers

Monitor lead times and proactively manage supply chain issues to avoid delays to site programmes

Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and approved supplier frameworks

Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiencies
Requirements:

Previous experience in a Materials Buyer or Procurement role within residential construction or housebuilding

Strong knowledge of construction materials used within residential developments

Experience using the COINS system or similar construction ERP/procurement systems

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple developments and maintain accurate procurement records

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
