JOB ROLE: Estimator
LOCATION: Maidstone, Kent
SALARY: £65k + competitive package
START DATE: April 2026
About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for an Estimator working with a well established residential developer delivering high quality homes across Kent. With a strong pipeline of developments and a commitment to quality and efficiency, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to support the commercial team in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for upcoming projects.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost assessments for residential developments, working closely with the Commercial Director, Quantity Surveyors and Construction teams. Your work will directly influence project budgets, tender submissions and procurement decisions, helping ensure developments are financially viable and competitively priced.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for residential developments

Analyse drawings, specifications and project information to determine material and labour requirements

Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

Support tender submissions and feasibility studies for new projects

Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options

Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Buyers and Project Managers to ensure accurate cost planning

Maintain detailed records of all estimates, assumptions and supplier information

Monitor market trends, pricing and supply chain factors that may impact project costs
Requirements:

Proven experience as an Estimator in residential construction or housebuilding

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and subcontract packages

Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software
