About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Groundworker to join our team on a busy construction project based in Gravesend. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of teamwork, and can deliver to high standards within tight deadlines.
As a Groundworker, you will play a vital role in supporting the site team with a wide range of groundwork operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient progress of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out all aspects of groundworks including:
- Drainage installation (foul and storm water systems)
- Foundations and footings
- Concreting and formwork
- Kerbing, edging, and paving
- Slabbing, block paving, and tarmacking preparation
- Trenching, ducting, and service installations
- General site clearance and preparation
- Operating small tools and plant (where qualified) safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with setting out and ensuring levels are accurate.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working area always.
- Adhering strictly to site health and safety regulations and following instructions from the Site Supervisor or Foreman.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A valid CSCS card (essential)
- Full PPE (safety boots, high-vis, hard hat, gloves, eye and ear protection)
- Proven experience in all aspects of groundworks on commercial or residential construction projects
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures on site
- Strong teamwork skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
