JOB ROLE: Project Engineer
LOCATION: City of London, London
RATE: £300/day - £350/day
START DATE: September 2025
About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for a Project Engineer working with a well established and reputable Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist . You will be working on cut and carve schemes which involve demolition, piling, temporary works installation, bulk excavation, basement construction and core build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering expertise during construction phases, including interpreting drawings and resolving technical issues.
- Ensure construction work meets design specifications, codes and standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, changes and progress reports.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Oversee and integrate design inputs from architects, engineers and consultants.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards and project goals.
- Manage design changes and assess their impact on cost, schedule and quality.
- Propose design alternatives that optimize cost and performance.
- Ensure designs comply with planning permissions, building regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for design-related discussions with clients and stakeholders.
- Lead design teams, manage workloads and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering processes and practices.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, surveying equipment).
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Commitment to health & safety and quality standards.
