JOB ROLE: Site Manager
LOCATION: Croydon, Greater London
RATE: £240/day - £250/day
START DATE: July 2026
About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for a Site Manager working with a well-established construction and fit-out contractor who deliver high-quality residential, commercial and refurbishment projects across Kent and London. They are looking for a Site Manager to oversee a school refurbishment project during the summer break. This role will involve managing the replacement and repair of existing doors, including associated fire protection works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Site Manager with experience delivering refurbishment projects, particularly within occupied school environments or similar live public-sector settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme
- Coordinate subcontractors and site personnel to achieve project milestones
- Oversee the replacement and repair of doors, ensuring all fire door installations and fire protection works are completed to the required specifications and relevant regulations
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and housekeeping on site
- Liaise with the client, project team, school representatives and subcontractors to ensure effective communication throughout the project
- Monitor progress and resolve any site issues promptly to minimise delays
- Ensure all project documentation, inspections and records are completed accurately
- Manage site logistics while working within a live school environment, minimising disruption wherever possible
Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering refurbishment projects, ideally within schools, education or other occupied buildings
- Experience managing door replacement programmes and/or fire protection or passive fire works would be highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management best practices
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme deadlines
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid at Work certification
- A valid DBS check is essential for this role due to the nature of the project
