JOB ROLE: Site Manager
LOCATION: Banbury, Oxfordshire
RATE: £250/day - £270/day
START DATE: July 2026
About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for a Site Manager working with a well-established construction and fit-out contractor who deliver high-quality residential, commercial and refurbishment projects across the Southern Home Counties. They are looking for a Site Manager to oversee the refurbishment of a commercial office space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring refurbishment works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the project programme
- Coordinate subcontractors, specialist trades and site personnel to achieve key project milestones and maintain programme deadlines
- Oversee commercial office refurbishment works, including strip-out, internal alterations, partitions, ceilings, flooring, finishes, doors and associated M&E works
- Coordinate the replacement, repair and installation of doors, ensuring fire doors and associated fire protection works are completed to the required specifications and relevant regulations
- Liaise with M&E contractors and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are effectively coordinated with the existing building services and construction programme
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and housekeeping throughout the site
- Liaise with the client, project management team, consultants, building management and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery
- Monitor progress against the programme, identify potential delays and resolve site issues promptly to minimise disruption to the project
- Ensure all project documentation, inspections, permits, RAMS and site records are completed and maintained accurately
- Manage site logistics and sequencing of works within a commercial office environment, ensuring disruption to building occupants and neighbouring businesses is minimised wherever possible
- Assist with snagging, quality inspections, remedial works and final handover to ensure the project is completed to the required standard
Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering commercial refurbishment, fit-out or renovation projects, ideally within office, retail or other occupied commercial buildings
- Experience working within live or occupied environments, managing site logistics and coordinating works to minimise disruption
- Strong understanding of refurbishment and fit-out activities, including strip-out, internal alterations, partitions, ceilings, flooring, finishes, doors and M&E coordination
- Experience managing door replacement programmes and/or fire protection and passive fire works would be highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, construction regulations and site management best practices
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and specialist trades while maintaining programme deadlines and quality standards
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid at Work certification
- Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, project managers, building management and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
